Which of these fits?
Use the closest description when you call. It is fine if you do not know the technical name for the key or lock. Explain what you can see and what still works, including whether another authorized driver has a usable spare.
- The key is visible inside the locked car.
- The key is missing and there is no usable spare.
- The key is present but will not turn.
- The remote behaves differently from the mechanical key.
Replacement starts with the vehicle
Have the year, make and model ready, and say whether any key still starts the car. A spare-key request and an all-keys-missing request can involve different considerations. The car key replacement page explains the information needed to discuss compatibility and the functions you want from a replacement.
A remote button failing does not, by itself, establish that the whole key needs replacing. Say whether the door key works and whether the car recognizes the key as usual. The options need checking for the particular vehicle; a familiar-looking fob is not enough to establish compatibility.
Find the car, not just the landmark
River Legacy Park follows the Trinity River, and its main location is on NW Green Oaks Boulevard. A park name can help orient the call, but add your actual parking location and the entrance you used. The same applies to a large retail lot: a shop name and nearby row are more useful than the center's name alone.
For help at a house instead, identify the affected entrance and whether you can get in another way. See lockout help for the details to have ready. If the request is at an address in Mansfield or Grand Prairie, give that location when checking availability.
